Della Says "Walking Is Cinchy!"

The rumors are true, Della has taken some steps on her own and we caught it on video! Thanks to everyone who has helped her reached this goal in the past 4 years! There was a point where I was beginning to doubt if Della would ever accomplish what she has. Enjoy!

Houston Rodeo 2011

This is our third year going to the Houston Rodeo and this time my cousin from SLC was visiting and came with us!

We checked out the animals and came across a huge section of rabbits. I kid you not the woman next to me said "Wow! Look at all the meat on that one! It would feed me for a week!"...
Besides the rabbits we checked out all the other livestock including poultry, goats, pigs (they smelled awful), the cows...

John Deere had a large display area which of course we had to see...

Every year the rodeo hosts the World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest and there is a list of the winners and where you can get their food. We had the yummiest pulled pork sandwiches. Actually the picture looks kind of gross...

My cousin Heather enjoying her lunch...

Chad and Archer enjoying their food...

Della said she just wanted to eat some graham crackers...

Then of course there were the rides. Here is Archer waiting in line to climb the rock wall...

I think he was a little nervous...

You can watch this short video which features Archer on various rides...

He spent 50 tickets trying to win this monkey prize, which he finally did on his very last ticket...

 He was so excited...

He even buckled it into the car seat next to him...

Best 50 tickets ever spent...

 Archer and Heather...

I leave you with this awesome parting shot of us in front of a trash can...

March 2011 In Pictures

This month I decided to only use pictures of flowers. Spring lasts approximately 2 weeks here in Houston, so we try to enjoy it before the heat sets in.

Top Row (L-R): Ana apple blossoms, Galilee Double Blue Larkspur, Kiowa blackberry blossom, Cilantro blossoms (which turn into coriander seed).

Bottom Row (L-R): Ana apple blossoms, the month, Gulf Beauty plum blossoms, Tropic Snow peach blossoms.
