Feliz Navidad! AKA: The Christmas of Archer's Golden Abraham Lincoln Statue

 Let's start at the beginning...

Della thought that bringing a tree inside the house was so amazing that she decided to stand up by herself...

Studying the underside of the tree with her infamous "pouty face"...

We went out to River Oaks to look at rich people Christmas lights...

Here are some property listings in the neighborhood, the first one starts at $10 million...

Ahhh yes...Christmas morning. Archer tried to get ours started at 5:20AM. We were able to hold him off until 6...

First things first...CANDY!

Archer gave his daddy a moose head coat hook...just what Chad always wanted...

Della's Christmas didn't start until 9 AM. She got to work right away on pushing her new shopping cart around with Raggedy Anne in it...

She wasn't too interested in the other gifts...that is until she realized there was paper ripping involved...

I edited this one a bit using Picnik...

We decided to visit the Houston Museum of Natural History on Christmas Day. There was a visiting exhibit called "Real Pirates" that Archer really wanted to see. Side note: Archer has been refusing to wear long sleeves because they "get germs all over the bottom of them" so if you were wondering why his sleeves are rolled up even though it was 42 degrees outside when we took this picture, now you know...

This was not one of the "real pirates" by the way. Again with the sleeves...

On the way home from the museum we stopped to get shakes because what else are you going to drink when the wind chill is 35 degrees? Sissy drank an ENTIRE pumpkin shake...by herself...

I asked Archer to smile and this is what I got. I love him...

So for those of you who don't know, we had some Christmas drama regarding Archer's wish list to Santa. He wanted two things, and iPhone (we said no to that) and...wait for it...a golden statue of Abraham Lincoln. I am serious. Well Santa ordered a statue on eBay (which surprisingly comes only in black or white, not gold) on the 11th of December. It never showed up. Santa left a note saying that he only had black and white statues of Abraham Lincoln but he had his elves working on a gold one just for Archer, but it would have to be delivered on a later date. That later date turned out to be Tuesday, it had finally arrived. Behold, Archer's "golden statue of Abraham Lincoln"...

He was pretty stoked...

Whenever he told people that he wanted "a golden statue of Abraham Lincoln" they usually asked two questions, the first being "Why?" Archer answered "Because he was our 16th President and he did some really great stuff. And he looks the coolest of all the presidents." The second question people ask is "What are you going to do with it?" Archer said the same thing every time, "I'm going to put it on my dresser and look at it." Of course.

So when I went upstairs to take a picture of it on his dresser, I was surprised to see that he had built some sort of shrine on his bottom bunk. The Lincoln statue resting on top of his vampire cape (you can see the reflective spiderwebs) and he had respectfully sprinkled pennies around it...

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

You have the best Christmases. I don't like long sleeves either. Who does, really? You are also getting very fancy with your photo touch up skills. This makes me happy.
