The Kiddies...

For the past 18 months, Archer hasn't known what it is like to have a pesky little sister following him around. Welcome to the rest of your life buddy...
Archer went to a gymnastics program today for a few hours. I think he spent most of the time talking to the teachers. Most likely telling her about Chico's mom (his imaginary friend).

Big Sky Country

I can't get over how beautiful the sky is here and I can't stop taking pictures. We have had about 2 days of constant rain from hurricane Dolly so we are ready to have clear skies.

Houston Children's Museum

We went with our friends the Birds to the Houston Children's Museum and a good time was had by all. I did lose Archer at one point and I had to go to the front desk to report him as lost. Just as I had finished giving them Archer's description he came walking up with a staff memeber. When I told him that he shouldn't have wandered off he said "Don't worry Mama, I told them that you had a white shirt and brown hair." With such a detailed description, how could they not find me? Wait, wasn't he the one that was lost?Face painiting...

Here he is as a news caster with a riot police helmet on...

Thanks Nana Bee for making Archer's new Sunday shirt have short sleeves..

"Mom, I made Della a bed. It's really comfy."

Enjoying some tunes and ice cream...

Lot's of pictures...

Starting with the 4th of July...

Saying goodbye to our family was very hard. We are excited for a new chapter of our lives, but it is sad to know that we are the cause of so much sadness in the ones that we love. This picture chokes me up everytime...Onto the new house...

Archer picked this outfit out, I had nothing to do with it...

We have a community pool and here is Della getting her swim on. Don't worry, Chad was just outside the picture...
Chad's new office/warehouse...

It's really big inside...

Our new (to us) car...

The humidity agrees (or disagrees) with Della's hair...

Texas rain is serious, no joke. This is what Californian's do when they see Texas rain...
Chad is now back in California moving his warehouse. We miss him already!

We made it toTexas!

Our family is all together again and we are happily living in the chaos that follows a move. We can only access the Internet from our phones, so we are unable to post pictures. Next week AT&T comes out to hook us up to their new fiber optic line, or as Chad has renamed it "the future." A few things I have learned about Texas in the short time we have lived here are that the people are very warm and friendly and that the weather can change at the drop of a hat. We got in the car to drive 2 blocks to the swim club and when we pulled into the parking lot it started pouring rain. I will have more to post next week when we join the future network. Hope all is well with everyone, we miss you all!

You've Come Along Way Baby...

A year ago today is when we got the news that Della had some serious health and developmental issues. The next few weeks were possibly the darkest and most faith building I have ever experienced. It is so wonderful to see her now at 18 months and how far she has come. In some cases she has surpassed some of the expectations that doctors, specialists, and experts have given us. In other cases, she has not. The important thing is that the blood work that first showed she had a very serious illness, have come back completely within normal range in the past 4 tests. Although no one has been able to explain why, I know it is because the Lord has healed her. I am so thankful that He has allowed her to remain in our family and I am thankful for the sweet spirit that has carried us through this ordeal. It has been a long road, and we still have a long way to go. Sometimes discouragement creeps in and it feels like we can't make it another week. That's when I pray for strength and guidance and I know that we can make it another hour and if we continue to put one foot in front of the other, things will work out.

I am thankful that I have had family to support me during the past year. I know that I couldn't have done it without them. So many people volunteered to watch Archer, accompanied us to appointments, gave financial support when the insurance company refused to pay for things, and most importantly offered up prayers, encouragement, and love to our family.

Della still has no official diagnosis but she is progressing and that is a good sign. She started crawling on all fours up off the floor about 2 weeks ago. She also is showing more interest in the world around her and she has really been exploring a lot more. She will be 18 months next week, but she is not quite 9 months developmentally. We are moving to Texas this weekend and I hope to get her started in physical and occupational therapy as soon as possible. I know that things will get done, I am just nervous about the unknown.

Here are a few pictures and a video of Della and her new "tricks."

She can stand with support but she can only pull up to her knees...

Chantel
(my super talented sister-in-law) made this doll for Della and she LOVES it. She is always "talking" to it and giving it lots of love. Seeing her interact with her doll has given us a lot of hope. Thank you Chantel!

Here is Della playing with her Daddy at Red Robin. By the way, that is chocolate sauce all over her face. Her Occupational Therapist says we should be exposing her to new food. May as well start with the good stuff.

Archer At Swimming Lessons

We took swimming lessons at Fullerton College for the past 2 weeks. Poor Archer has to wear this headband to keep his ear plugs in and he looks like Aunt Jemima. It's a good thing he is too young to care about looking cool.

After his lessons he walked all the way around the pool singing this song...
